Classes held at the Wellsville location.
The Wellsville Family YMCA dance classes offer children, ages 3-18, the opportunity to learn the basics to intermediate fundamentals of ballet, jazz, hip hop, and modern dance. Classes are designed to enhance fine and gross motor skills and cultivate imagination, creativity and social development in a caring environment. Children will perform a dance recital at the end of the season. Entrance to the performance is free of charge. A full-color program is available for purchase. Individual and group professional photographs will be taken.
What to Wear:
We only ask that children wear clothing that is comfortable and easy to move in. We ask that no denim be worn during dance. Some children may choose to wear a leotard and tights, but it is not required. Long hair should be pulled back and clothing should fit properly so that they do not become a distraction. Socks (or bare feet) may be worn for all classes except Tap. Tap shoes are required for that class. The Y provides costumes for the recital held at the conclusion of each dance season.
To provide the best learning environment for our students, we ask that visitors (parents) remain in the hall during class. There will be time before and after class to meet with instructors to get progress reports.
The Y offers dance two times per year. Registration begins one month before each season and a recital is held at the conclusion. Summer season is open to youth ages 3-9 years and the Fall/Winter season is open to youth ages 3-18 years.
